Halar® coating, also known as ECTFE (Ethylene Chlorotrifluoroethylene) coating, is a fluoropolymer coating used in industries where high levels of chemical and corrosion resistance are required.
Overview
Since its introduction to the market, ECTFE has been used in applications where protection against aggressive chemical environments is essential. It is resistant to acids at high concentrations and temperatures, caustic media, oxidizing agents and many solvents. ECTFE is said to have chemical resistance similar to PTFE.
Designed to provide unrivalled chemical corrosion protection, ECTFE possesses the best permeation resistance of all of the fluoropolymer families. The coating can resist most oxidizing agents, solvents, caustic media and even high concentrations of strong acids at elevated temperatures.
